Assalamua'laikum my dear.
Its already sunday. But today is kinda fun. Chat with a few friends. Work for the program together. We talk mostly about the cost of living which is getting higher and higher as time passes. Seems only yesterday that I have RM10 and I could buy all the things I wanted. But now, the value seems so small and everyone's striving to balance the little money that they have.
I guess everyone is so worried about money. Since we have always live a better life before, no worries about whether I have enough money for the day or not.
A simple life is the best.
You could have plenty of land to grow crops yourself. You could ride your bicycle or walk to the shop nearby without worrying about 'peragut beg' or being knock down by an oncoming vehicle. You can even have plenty of time with your family and live your fullest with the things that you have.
The more we have, the more we want.
If we obtain something, its always better to have more. We always compare ourselves with people who could live n luxury. But we seldom compare with those who live in poverty and still survive. People strive to have the highest salary possible. Parents work day and night to make sure that they have enough money for their family. Before, we say that money can't buy everything. But now, people say everything cost them money. And it is true most of the the time. So, its kinda weak to condemn this people who work so hard to get money.
The richer are getting richer, and the poorer are more poor. Even those in the middle class are finding it hard to go through each day without worries.
We see the bad side of the situation clearly, but maybe its time to think deeper.
1) Pray to god for help and guidance.
People nowadays are so far away from God. They neglect their prayers, they steal, they abandon their children, they break their parents heart, they go for the easy way to get money. And I know you can think of the other things besides the one that I mention. The reason our heart is always rumbling and worrying is partly because of our relationship with God has weaken. Never underestimate God, as He is the most clear about all of us. So, strengthen our relationship with God first, and everything insyaAllah will be easier for us to digest, even in hard times.
2) Try to be better towards others and to ourselves.
Be a better person. Be better as a preacher, worker, student, daughter or son, friend. We want everything about us to be perfect. But remember, therBe are others who also wants their life to be perfect. With no give and take, or help from each other, it is like pulling a rope from one end where the other party pull it as hard as we do on the other hand. No one wins, and everyone is left tiring themselves out.
3) Be thankful and share our happiness with others.
If you are a mugger, every single minute you will be hoping that a person walking past will toss a coin to you. If you are a leader, you will want your subordinates to follow you and support all your decisions. If you are a worker, you hope that your employer will respect your rights and have compassion in tough times. We all want to be appreciated no matter who we are. We all want people to understand us. But usually, we fail to be compassionate towards others. We fail to bring happiness for others when we are able. So be loving. InsyaAllah, the love we give, we will receive it in a different way but in a more meaningful manner.
i think thats too long already. I'll add up the list on the next post.
take care. :P.
